The pupils have an opportunity to write or give a verbal manifesto to their class and are then voted on by their peers to decide the year’s School Council.
The school council meet on a regular basis to discuss a variety of issues relating to the school. Recent discussions have included: spending of budget for playground equipment, children’s perception of aspects of the school day, charities to support. The council members act as a link between their class, staff and other groups and committees including the Governors. These children have to be willing and able to put forward other people’s views and make improvements to the whole school for the benefit of all pupils.
